If you wish to study at the University of Otago as an exchange student, you will need to meet the eligibility requirements.
How do I apply to study at Otago as an exchange student
To be an incoming exchange student to the University, you need to:
- Be enrolled at a partner institution: Exchange partner institutions.
- Complete your home university's exchange application process. Contact your International Office for information on the exchange nomination process, application procedures, and deadlines.
- Be nominated by your home institution.
- Plan to study undergraduate or graduate coursework at the Dunedin campus.
- Plan to study for:
- At least Summer School, or
- A maximum of two full-time semesters
- Plan a course load of:
- A minimum of 54 Otago points (three 18-point papers), or
- A maximum of 72 Otago points (four 18-point papers) per semester
During Summer School, one 18-point paper is considered full-time.
- Ideally, have a minimum 'B' grade average (70%).
- Meet the
English requirements for international students.
The Otago English Language Proficiency Statement form needs to be completed by the Exchange/Study Abroad office at your home institution.
