eduroam ("education roaming") is a free secure wireless network available at participating campuses and institutions in New Zealand and around the world.

How do I report a problem with eduroam

To report a problem with eduroam:

For an eduroam-providing institution users attempting to access eduroam at University of Otago

If the eduroam option does not appear in your wireless connections check that:

  1. There are other wireless networks available (there could be a local network problem).
  2. Your mobile device is in range for the University of Otago wireless network. eduroam is available at all locations covered by the University of Otago wireless network.

If both of these are confirmed, contact AskOtago.

University of Otago staff and students are not able to access the eduroam service on University of Otago campuses. If you are a staff member or a student, use the UO_WIFI network while you are at the University:

Connect to UO_WIFI

For staff or students from the University of Otago visiting an eduroam-providing institution

If the eduroam option does not appear in your wireless connections:

  1. Check that there are other wireless networks available (there could be a local network problem or you may not be in range of the institution's wireless network).
  2. Contact the IT services at the institution you are visiting to make sure there are no local issues that might affect your eduroam connection.

If they cannot resolve your issue or refer you to your learning provider, contact AskOtago.
