The Pūtea Tautoko Student Relief Fund is for University of Otago students affected by financial hardship that has become a barrier to study.
How do I check if I am eligible for Pūtea Tautoko
With limited exceptions, all students enrolled at the University of Otago are required to pay the compulsory Pūtea Tautoko Student Relief Fund fee, currently set at $20 (including GST). All students who have paid the fee are eligible to apply for support from the Pūtea Tautoko Student Relief Fund.
MBChB students should apply for a Medical Hardship grant first unless it is natural disaster-related, in which case an application to Pūtea Tautoko is appropriate.
Students living in University-owned colleges, and Uni Flats residents, should first contact the warden/subwarden to check if any financial support is available.
Students living in University-affliated colleges should contact the warden and access college-operated scholarships/funds before applying to Pūtea Tautoko.
