Tuition fees receipts can be obtained via eVision (except for Pathway and English Language Centre students, refer below).

How do I request a tuition fee receipt

International students

New students

Once you have received your Offer of Place and have made your payment, you can proceed with requesting a receipt.

Returning students

Once you have received your Confirmation of Enrolment letter (which you request from the Student Visa Team in the International Office) and have made your payment, you can proceed with requesting a receipt. Attach your Confirmation of Enrolment letter to your receipt request.

To request a tuition fee receipt as an international student:

  1. Log in to eVision.
  2. Click Request tuition fee receipt from the My Finances section of the dashboard/homepage.
  3. Enter the required information about your payment and attach any relevant documentation, for example: a copy of your payment transaction, or, for a returning student, your Confirmation of Enrolment letter.
  4. Click Request receipt.
  5. Click Exit.

Log in to eVision

Your receipt will be sent to you via eVision. You will receive an alert notification when your receipt has been issued. Open the alert from your eVision portal and click the Download PDF button. You can then access your receipt from the Downloads area of your browser.

You can also download a copy of your receipt from the Completed Requests section of the View or Request tuition fee receipt for visa purposes option in the Finance menu.

  • Tuition fee receipts can only be issued once your payment has been received in the University of Otago's bank account. It can take several days for funds to clear from the time that you make payment
  • Student Finance recommend that new students make payment as soon as possible after receiving their Offer of Place to allow sufficient time to receive an official receipt from the Student Finance office and allow time for the student visa application
  • If you need to send your receipt on to an agent, you will need to do this once you have downloaded the receipt in eVision

The eVision Account Summary is not suitable for visa application purposes.

Domestic students

Domestic students can get a tuition fees receipt from the My Finances tab in eVision:

  1. Log in to eVision.
  2. Click See my account and payment information on the dashboard/homepage.
  3. Click My account.
  4. Choose the year the receipt is for.
  5. Your receipt/s will be listed under Less payments at the bottom of the page.

Pathway and English Language Centre students

Pathway and English Language Centre students can request a receipt via email:

  1. To request a receipt, email: student.finance@otago.ac.nz
  2. Include in your email:
    • Your full name (including any middle names)
    • Date of birth
    • The programme you have applied for
    • Your address or phone number as listed in your application.
  3. The receipt will be sent to the email address in EBS when your tuition fee payments are received.
