The University of Otago Magazine is for alumni and friends of the University of Otago. It features stories on groundbreaking University research, the accomplishments of Otago staff, students, and alumni, as well as opinions, book reviews, news, and more.
The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) manages the database for distributing the University of Otago Magazine to alumni. It is an annual publication and distributed by post and email to:
- Alumni (graduates, former students, international students, Dunedin College of Education)
- Staff (current, former, and retired)
- Parents
- Alumni employers
- Donors
- Government – local, regional, national and departments (including MPs and embassies), DHBs, etc.
- Funding partners (New Zealand and overseas)
- Media (print, TV, radio – New Zealand and overseas)
- New Zealand secondary schools
- Other tertiary institutions (exchange partners etc.)
- Māori and Pacifica organisations

Alumni who wish to switch their University of Otago Magazine subscription to an electronic copy, or request specific alumni newsletters, can contact database.alumni@otago.ac.nz with their preferences.
