If you are enrolled in the Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) programme, after receiving your semester 1 exam results you can add in an optional eighth paper in semester 2. The optional eighth paper needs to be selected from an approved list.

You are encouraged to check the optional eighth paper FAQs and book a course advice appointment if you have any further questions.

The results in your best seven papers will be counted for the purposes of admission to the professional programmes, provided that the compulsory seven papers are passed at or above the required minimum standards.

ENGL 128 does not count for admission to professional programmes in the same way an optional eighth paper does.

If you are required to take ENGL 128 you must pass this paper to be eligible for admission, but the result is not considered as part of the results of your best seven papers.
