Employers and other members of the public can utilise the University of Otago's graduate search database to verify whether an individual holds a particular degree or other qualification from the University:
When searching for the graduate, ensure you enter the graduate's legal name at the time the degree was awarded.
Refer the customer to the graduate search database in the first instance. If this is not suitable, verification can also be completed by Student Records. Emails should be ID-checked and then assigned to Student Administration — Records Management queue.
WES — World Education Services
A WES degree conferral form is completed by Student Records. The form needs to be provided to WES in a sealed envelope that is stamped/signed on the back flap to be valid. Student Records send the sealed/stamped envelope inside another envelope (which isn't stamped). Students are welcome to open the first envelope — the non-tampered sealed envelope is inside.
