UniCrew is a volunteer community run by the Social Impact Studio which connects students with social impact opportunities. UniCrew runs a number of its own social impact and community programmes as well as supporting over 200 community partners to offer students meaningful opportunities to get involved, develop valuable skills, and connect with the communities you will serve when you graduate.
UniCrew programmes include:
- Reading Oasis – a literacy programme where university students go to a local school to read with children
- Matariki GC Cafe – an informal student speaker series on topics with global relevance
- Minds Together – a collaboration with Alzheimers Otago connecting university buddies with individuals with early-stage dementia
- Good Deed and Feed – one off social impact adventures, just get on the bus! We have the rest sorted
When you volunteer, the community organisations who register with the Social Impact Studio provide:
- An orientation/introduction to the organisation and your role
- An outline or description of your volunteer role
- Appropriate supervision
- Personal development opportunities
- Specialised training if required
You can find currently available volunteering roles on the Unicrew Priceless Store
