Unipol offers a wide variety of recreational activities, including gym facilities, group fitness, outdoor rentals, and social sport.
Entry into Unipol is:
- Free for University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic students on presentation of a valid student ID card (the previous year's ID card can be used to access Unipol until Orientation Week of the current year)
- Available for use by University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic staff with a discounted membership
- Available to the public by paying a casual entry fee or buying a membership
Casual entry fees apply per visit and include:
- $15 for weights, cardio and exercise spaces
- $15 for a group fitness class
- $7.50 for court spaces (e.g. basketball, volleyball, badminton, futsal, table tennis)
- $7.50 for games space
Casual entry fees apply per person, including children. If you leave the facility and return, you will be charged again.
Equipment is available for use at Unipol facilities – just swap your ID card for equipment at reception.
Locker keys are available from reception by swapping your valid student ID card. Locker keys are free. Lockers are available only while you are using the facility. Digital lockers are also available and can be accessed by creating your own PIN.
Unipol has a "no chalk" policy in the weight and cardio rooms.
Unipol facilities include drop-in indoor court spaces (no bookings required), two fully equipped weight rooms, a cardio and light weights room, a quieter exercise space located in Te Whare Pītakataka 1 (kākāriki | green gym), changing areas (including gender inclusive bathroom areas), and games and recreation spaces with pool tables.
If you are unable to find an item you may have lost at Unipol, ask a staff member to check lost property. If the item is still not found, your details can be added to their Lost 'n' Found book so if it is found later, they can notify you.
