The University of Otago Mailroom offers a range of mail services.

Staff and students can send personal letters and parcels by post or courier through the University Mailroom. Payment is by EFTPOS only.

Opening hours for sending personal mail are Monday to Friday: 8:30am–3pm.

Student mailing solutions:

At the end of each year a "student special" service is available where University custom boxes are provided to students enabling them to send their personal belongings back home. The pricing is heavily discounted and is available from all residential colleges, OUSA, and the Mailroom.

The Mailroom is in the basement of the Clocktower (Registry) building, room B36. Access is via the main front door.

Mail and courier items need to be with the Mailroom by 3:50pm.


The Mailroom provides courier bags and tickets for all national overnight, same-day, and economy two-day delivery.

The Mailroom uses International Freight Logistics for:

  • Imports and exports
  • Air freight/courier shipments
  • Sea freight shipments
  • Supplier-controlled shipments
  • Dangerous goods
  • Dry ice shipments
  • MAF and customs clearances

Mail for residential colleges and other campuses:

All mail for the colleges and other campuses is considered internal. They receive a one-day delivery including Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
