Being a class representative (class rep) is an opportunity to take an active part in determining your education experience. Each of your classes will have a student representative to promote constructive communication between students and staff.

Representatives give lecturers access to students’ opinions on the teaching and delivery of papers, confidential feedback to the department, reporting on positive aspects and identifying any potential areas for improvement.

The lecturer will ask for volunteers at the beginning of each semester. Otago University Students' Association (OUSA) provides training to assist class representatives with their work.
