Dunedin is very easy to get around, and most places you're likely to go are either in walking or cycling distance, or accessible by bus.
Public transport
Dunedin has a good public transport system with a flat-rate cash fare of $3 per bus journey. You can also use a Bee Card for a discounted $2 flat-rate fare and free transfer within 45 minutes of getting off. See the Otago Regional Council website for more information:

Car parking
Parking is at a premium around the University campus and the surrounding streets.
Public parking around campus
On-street parking is available around the campus with parking limits from five minutes to four hours. Parking wardens are active in the University campus area, so take a note of the parking limits to ensure that you aren't ticketed.

Park n Ride
The University’s Park n Ride service is based in the Forsyth Barr Stadium carpark. The service is available to all University staff and students.
There is a yearly $50 administration fee to use this service.
Mobility parking
There are a number of dedicated mobility car parks across the Dunedin campus:
Residential college parking
If you live in a residential college, there may be some parking available. This can vary between the colleges and is limited. Most residential colleges are a short walk to campus.
Albany Street Carpark
Wilson Parking New Zealand Limited operates the University's Albany Street carpark. University staff and students pay a subsidised parking rate; in order to get this rate they must present an active University ID card at the payment terminals (not the exit barrier).
The University provides Wilson Parking with a current list of valid ID cards weekly on Fridays. If a new ID card is issued during the week the discount will not be available until the following Monday.
Park n Ride
See the related article Park n Ride for more information.
Leased parking
University parks are available for leasing by staff, students, departments and other University users. All parks leased by the University are allocated via a waiting list. Offers for leased parking spaces are sent by email with the associated forms, which must be completed and returned by email to the Parking Administrator (i.e forms cannot be returned to the office in person).
Towed cars
For enquiries about retrieving a towed car, refer callers to Reilly’s Towage +64 3 477 5787 (please do not refer on to Property Services).
