Who is this available to

If you are a prospective international student and meet the following criteria, you may want to consider applying for one of the programmes offered through the University of Otago's Pathway and English Language Centre:

  • You do not have the necessary qualifications to begin your studies at the University, i.e. you do not meet the standard University Entrance (UE) requirements for international students. Normally this only applies to undergraduate students, as postgraduate admissions have a different set of criteria for programme entry as an international student
  • You have been given conditional acceptance to a course, provided that you first complete a Pathway programme
  • Your English language proficiency does not meet the standard requirements and/or you wish to improve your English language skills before you begin your studies at the University
  • You were otherwise recommended to first complete a Pathway programme based on an evaluation of your current academic qualifications and/or English language abilities.

How do I access it

To apply for a Pathway or English Language Centre programme:

  1. Go to the Online Application portal and either log in or create an account.
