Tī Kōuka Ora enables the kotahitanga (collective action) of staff and students making efforts towards strategic change. It provides a practical way to embed the principles of Tī Kōuka into everyday work and study life at the University.
There are:
- 60 actions to get amongst, connected to Tī Kōuka 2030: the Sustainability Strategic Framework
- 7 resources (minis) aligned with the framework's vision statements
- 11 e-badges that can be earned to recognise and showcase individual or team contributions
Tī Kōuka 2030 hs been developed by the Toitū te Taiao team in collaboration with staff, students, and the Office of Māori Development. It provides a bi-cultural, Tiriti-based framework for sustainability action in Aotearoa and incorporates mātauraka Māori to guide a more sustainable future. The framework aligns with the United Nations' concept of the Decade of Action for global sustainability.
Tī Kōuka Ora provides staff and students with a structured way to engage with the Sustainability Strategic Framework. Participants can explore a variety of 'minis', which are short resources aligned with the framework's vision statements, and earn e-badges that recognise individual or team contributions.
Completing multiple minis can lead to milestone badges, such as the 2024 Award badge, highlighting sustained efforts and achievements. E-badges can be showcased on professional profiles, email signatures, or other platforms to acknowledge involvement.
The programme encourages embedding sustainability practices into everyday work and study, fostering collective action and kotahitanga across the University.
