Qualtrics is a web-based survey application available for use by University of Otago staff and students.

ITS provides an introductory training course for Qualtrics, and there are also support/training videos available on the Qualtrics website

If your survey will include personal information which is covered by the Health Information Privacy Code (HIPC), the Privacy Act, or Ethics Committee specifications that require a secure survey tool, you should use the REDCap survey software instead.

Qualtrics survey data is stored within the Qualtrics system which is outside of the University.

If you require your students to run a survey, you will need a staff member to be assigned the "Division Administrator" role for your department (or "Division" in Qualtrics).

The designated staff member will receive an email which contains all the information required.

If a user becomes locked out of their Qualtrics account, the account will automatically unlock after one hour. If access is required urgently, ITS Software can unlock the account – assign to Justin Elliot in Software Procurement. If they require a password reset, assign to Justin Elliot in Software Procurement.
