A University of Otago external username may be required to access IT services and to provide a University ID card if you do not have an employment agreement with the University, or if you are not an enrolled student.

Library eResources

You can request access to Library eResources after receiving your external username. Ensure your eligibility first before completing the form:

Off-Campus Access to Library E-resources

Otago Medical School Clinical Lecturers

You may receive a Clinical Lecture external account which includes access to Library eResources, if you are not entered into the University payroll system. If you are unsure whether you come under this category, contact your department.

External PhD supervisors

If you require access to University resources in order to conduct PhD supervision your department will request an external account on your behalf. 

Visiting students

Sojourn is the system used by the University of Otago to record and manage visiting students.8 If you are a visiting students who will be on campus for more than seven days, you will have an account created for them as part of the Sojourn registration process.
