eduroam ("education roaming") is a free secure wireless network available at participating campuses and institutions in New Zealand and around the world. The eduroam network may be accessed by qualifying visitors to connect to the University's network/internet using their home institution’s credentials.
eduroam should appear as a wireless network option (SSID) on your mobile device or laptop, at all locations covered by the University of Otago wireless network.

How do I connect to eduroam
To connect to eduroam:
- Check the Security settings for connecting to eduroam for visitors:
SSID - eduroam
Authentication method - PEAP-MSCHAPv2
Wireless security type - WPA2-Enterprise (802.1X/EAP)
Encryption type - AES-CCMP
- Select "eduroam" as a wireless network option (SSID) on your mobile device or laptop.
- Sign in with your credentials.
Your home institution can also control which websites you can visit when using eduroam at the University of Otago. Contact the IT services at your home institution for further information.
