You need to bring approved photo identification (ID) with you when you sit your examination. Your University of Otago student ID card is the preferred form of identification; however, you can also use any form of current (i.e. not expired) photo ID:
- Driver licence
- Firearms licence
- Kiwi Access Card (formerly known as 18+ Card)
- Passport

Preparing for and sitting examinations
If a student has arrived for an exam and has no other form of photo ID on them, they can print out their own eVision personal details page (with photo) as proof of their identity. AskOtago staff can also print the student's personal details page on their behalf prior to their examination.
If a student contacts us and does not have time to arrange a print-out before their examination, advise them to go to their examination room and inform the supervisor they do not have photo ID. The supervisor will then arrange with Student Administration (examinations) for the student to complete a declaration so they can sit their examination.
