The University of Otago has a number of memorials around campus. Over 60 individuals are remembered on campus through tree planting, and 10 organisations and events by plaques, park benches, and trees. Memorials are intended to commemorate staff, students, or alumni who have passed away, or a special event.

In accordance with the University of Otago's campus memorial policy, if you are an individual or group with a demonstrated link to the University, you can request a memorial tree or plaque to be installed on campus at your expense.

The Commemorative Register was established in 1980 to record memorial and commemorative features around the University campus. The Register links to locations, stories, and photos of the memorials.
