How do I recover deleted emails in Outlook

To recover deleted items in Outlook:

Windows

  1. Click on the folder where the item was deleted and go to the Folder tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click on Recover Deleted Items. A window will open that lists all deleted items that can be recovered.
  3. Click on the radio button for Restore Selected Items at the bottom of the window to recover items or click the radio button for Purge Selected Items to delete the items permanently.

Mac

Outlook for Mac does not offer an interface to recover messages purged from your Deleted Items folder.

Via a web browser

Email is recoverable from your Deleted Items folder for 30 days, and junk email retained for 10 days, before it is automatically deleted. Refer to the instructions on the Microsoft Support website to recover deleted emails:
