The University of Otago offers a number of wireless networks it is possible to connect to. This guide will show you how to find out what network you are connected to, no matter the device.
If you are course-enrolled you should be using the UO_WIFI network where available. See the related articles for a guide on how to connect:

Windows computer/laptop
To find what network you are connected to on a Windows computer or laptop:
- Click on the wireless/Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.
- Locate the network that says Connected, secured. This is the network you are currently connected to.
Mac computer/laptop
To find what network you are connected to on a Mac computer or laptop:
- Click the wireless/Wi-Fi icon in the top right of the menu bar.
- Look for the network that has a tick next to it. This is the network you are connected to.
Android phone/device
To find what network you are connected to on your Android phone:
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Wi-Fi/Connections/Network.
- Find the Wi-Fi option. This should reveal what network you are connected to.
iOS phone/device
To find what network you are connected to on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app.
- If connected, the name of the network will be displayed next to the Wi-Fi heading.
