The Central Library has seminar rooms available as study spaces for students from the first day of formal lectures in semester 1 through to the end of examinations in semester 2. This typically aligns with the University’s academic teaching and examination periods, as published in the Academic key dates
For example, during 2026 rooms will generally be available to students from late February (when formal lectures begin) until early November (the end of semester 2 examinations).
Seminar rooms are available on all floors of the Library in a variety of sizes to suit your purposes.
During these periods, seminar rooms may be used for individual or group study. Availability may vary depending on demand and Library operations.
Outside teaching periods
Outside of the above times, the seminar rooms may be booked by University staff. Contact: library.admin@otago.ac.nz to make a booking.
