Microsoft Teams is an app for real-time collaboration, with options for public or private teams.
How do I change a team from public to private
- Ensure you are an owner of the appropriate team.
- Open the Team that requires being made private.
- On the side, next to the Team name, click the three dots.
- Select Manage.
- Select Settings, found in the top ribbon.
- Click the purple Edit button.
- Select the Privacy drop-down menu and click Private - Only team owners can add members.
- Click Done.
Often a public team is not appropriate, and is accidentally created where a private team would be preferable. If you have created a public team and are confident it is appropriate to remain public, contact AskOtago to advise of the team name so that it may be added to the allow-list for public teams.
