The University of Otago offers leased parking options for staff, students, departments and other University users with a University of Otago email address.
All University-leased parks are allocated through a waiting list.
The car park waiting list does not operate in a numbered system. A position on the waiting list is based on preferences for campus areas and the date of application.
Waiting list times vary by campus area, with the longest waits typically for parks in the southern Dunedin campus near the Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Dentistry.
The waiting time for a car park offer is:
- 1-2 year wait on the Christchurch campus
- 2-3 year wait on the Dunedin campus
Carparks may be tested on request when offered for factors including:
- Distance from your place of work
- Route
- Size
- Tree placement
If the car park offered does not suit your needs, there may be alternative options available.
Leased parking on campus is managed by Property and Campus Development.
Leased parks are for the exclusive use of the licensee between 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory public holidays), unless signposted otherwise.
