The Marketing Events team provides a range of support services for University of Otago events.

Support ranges from end-to-end event co-ordination for strategic events, including undergraduate recruitment events, through to the provision of information and resources for staff organising their own small events.

End-to-end event co-ordination may include:

  • Initial conceptualisation and feasibility assessment
  • Event planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement
  • Logistics such as travel, venue and catering, equipment and entertainment, invitations and registrations, and collaboration with Marketing and Communications teams
  • On-the-day event delivery, including set-up, troubleshooting, and pack-down
  • Post-event evaluation, debrief, and recommendations for future events

Support for small events may include:

  • Advice and guidance for staff
  • Access to event templates and tools
  • Equipment hire

External events held on campus are not supported by the Events team. This includes association and hosted events that are not owned by the University of Otago.
