The first step in managing a risk or hazard is to identify it. All staff have a responsibility to report risks or hazards. The University of Otago uses Vault, an online risk assessment and hazard management system, to identify risks or hazards within the University workplace in order to create controls. All workers should know how to access their department's register, and how to report a risk or hazard.
