The OUSA-managed Queer Space is a place on the Dunedin campus for University of Otago queer and questioning students to hang out in a safe, supportive environment, and has kitchen facilities including a fridge, microwave, hot water, and a sink.

Queer Space has restricted access, and you will need to have your ID card enabled to use as a swipecard to get in.

If the room is locked during the standard opening hours below and no events are taking place, contact Campus Watch to arrange access:

The Queer Space is located on the first floor of the University Union building and is open at these times:

  • During semester time: 7:30am–10:00pm weekdays and 10:00am–10:00pm on weekends
  • Outside of semester time: 7:30am–7:00pm weekdays and closed on weekends
