The Junior Mathematics Competition is run by the Department of Statistics for students in Years 9 to 12, although younger students may also participate. The competition consists of two parts, each of 50 minutes in duration. The first part consists of a multiple choice examination and is held in April, while the second part is a long answer, paper base examination held in May. Prizes are rewarded to a number of students in each year level. The competition poses questions from different areas of Mathematics with an emphasis on problem solving.
