The Junior Mathematics Competition is run by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for students in Years 9 to 11 (Forms 3 to 5), although younger students may also participate. The competition is 50 minutes in duration and is held on a Wednesday on a date in either April or May. The format is a paper-based examination. Prizes are rewarded to a number of students in each year level. The competition poses questions from different areas of Mathematics with an emphasis on problem solving.
