If you have been offered a place on a non-research postgraduate programme at the University of Otago (for example a coursework master's, postgraduate certificate, or diploma) but need to start your study at a later date, you can submit a request to defer your application.
How do I defer an offer of place
If you wish to defer an offer of place for a non-research postgraduate programme:
Domestic applicants:
- Contact AskOtago to request a deferral.
- Provide the appropriate information, including the programme you wish to defer.
- You will be contacted by Student Administration, who will advise you of your next steps.
First year international applicants:
- Log in to eVision.
- Navigate to My Programmes and Papers.
- Select Apply for Deferral.
- Complete the deferral request form for the programme you want to defer.
- You will be contacted by Student Administration, who will advise you of your next steps.
Research programmes:
