Course advice for undergraduate study is provided by advisers in Student Development, and is available by phone, via Zoom, or in-person.
Who is this available to
Current University of Otago students, and prospective students who have previously studied at tertiary level.
You can seek advice at any point in the year, and as many times as you like.
How do I book a course advice appointment
Current students
- Open the Course Advice form.
- Log in using your University of Otago student credentials.
- Complete the required fields.
- Provide as much detail as possible.
- Select your preferred appointment time and format.
Student Development are experiencing high volumes of enquiries following the release of semester 2 results on 21 November 2025. Due to this, appointments book up quickly. It is recommended that you continue to use the form to check back until an appointment becomes available. Alternatively, contact AskOtago for other ways to seek course advice from Student Development.

How much does it cost
There is no charge for course advice.
The Course advice form is only available to logged-in, current students. Logged-in staff will receive an Access denied message on the form page. Everyone else will be prompted to log in.
