Graduation is the final step in your journey through the University.

You can attend a ceremony in person to celebrate the completion of your degree. If you are to receive multiple qualifications, which would normally be awarded at separate ceremonies, you can only attend one ceremony and must choose which to attend as part of your graduation application. Each of your qualifications will be read during the ceremony, but you will only cross the stage once.

When you become eligible to graduate, an email inviting you to apply is sent to your student email address, usually in the week before applications open. If you do not receive an invitation to graduate during this timeframe, contact AskOtago.

You must apply if you want to graduate, and you should normally graduate within 12 months of completing your qualification. You will be emailed approximately six weeks before the ceremony with an online link to your graduation ceremony itinerary.

Students who complete a postgraduate certificate are not eligible to attend a graduation.

Once official results are released, if you haven't met the requirements for your programme, you will receive an email advising you that you have been withdrawn from the graduation ceremony.
