Te Whare Tāwharau, the Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence Support and Prevention Centre, provides resources and education to all students, staff, and the wider community. They can help with raising a complaint through the appropriate channels.

The Centre is one unified space that provides survivor-led support within the campus community. Te Whare Tāwharau supports students and staff who are dealing with incidents of sexual violence and intimate partner violence that are recent or historical and provides a safe environment.

Te Whare Tāwharau also provides prevention and education programmes and works to reduce sexual violence through evidence-based practice, informed by academic research and evaluation.

The Centre works collaboratively with other University services, including Student Health, Disability Information and Support, University Volunteering, and the Proctor's Office, to ensure coordinated and appropriate support.

Te Whare Tāwharau is the first centre of its kind in Aotearoa | New Zealand and brings together academic expertise, research, and best-practice support services to support the University of Otago community.

Te Whare Tāwharau can be found on the Dunedin campus.
