The University of Otago offers a number of entrance scholarships which can help pay for University study or residential accommodation expenses. You can apply to defer your entrance scholarship for up to one year.
How do I defer an entrance scholarship
If you would like to defer your entrance scholarship:
- Accept your entrance scholarship offer by clicking the Accept button at the bottom of your scholarship offer letter.
- Email the Manager, Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships at: entrance.scholarships@otago.ac.nz and include the following in your email:
- The reasons you would like to defer your entrance scholarship,
- A brief outline of what you plan to do whilst you are on deferral, and
- Your:
- Full legal name including any middle names
- Date of birth
- University of Otago Student ID number
- Programme of study applied for
- Home address or telephone number as listed in eVision
- The Entrance Scholarships team will then notify you of the outcome via email.
Not all scholarships can be deferred. For those that can, deferrals are normally granted for up to one year.
Deferrals are unlikely to be granted where a recipient is studying at any tertiary institution at degree level during the deferral period.
