The University of Otago, along with all universities in New Zealand, is required to submit a standard set of student-related data to the Ministry of Education.
This data is used for many purposes, including funding, provision of StudyLink, and reporting purposes. The Ministry of Education sends a subset of the data to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) each year to inform the New Zealand Record of Achievement (NZRoA).
The NZRoA will only show completed qualifications or complete NZQA assessment standards. Therefore, the only records from the University of Otago included on a NZRoA will be fully completed qualifications. Any completions pre-dating the year 2000 (when data transfer to the Ministry of Education started) also won't appear on the NZRoA. Universities have no involvement in the transfer of data between the Ministry and NZQA and cannot address any delays or omissions.
