If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony, you can withdraw from it. This needs to be done at least five weeks prior to the date of the ceremony.

You do not need to attend a ceremony to have your qualification conferred.

Who is this available to

Students who have applied for a graduation ceremony but are no longer able to attend.

How do I withdraw

To withdraw your application to attend a graduation ceremony:

  1. Log in to eVision.
  2. Click the See more link under My graduation.
  3. Click on the Withdraw from ceremony link.
  4. Follow any prompts/steps to confirm your withdrawal from your selected ceremony.

Log in to eVision

If you have any problems withdrawing yourself from the ceremony, email the Graduation Office immediately at graduation@otago.ac.nz

If you are still within twelve months of completing your qualification, you can reapply for a place in a ceremony to be held later.

If you have applied to graduate in person and need to give less than five weeks' notice, contact AskOtago.

As your name is unable to be removed from the graduation programme within five weeks, contact Student Administration directly.
