If you are an international student who is completing secondary (high school) outside of New Zealand (offshore), you may be considered for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship for International Students, or the International Global Scholarship when you apply to study at the University of Otago.
If you are an international student completing secondary school within New Zealand (onshore), you are eligible to apply for entrance scholarships. When being assessed for these scholarships, you may be considered for an international scholarship.
How do I apply for an international scholarship
If you are an offshore student
- There is no application necessary for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship for International Students, or the International Global Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to students who meet the eligibility criteria
- If you are offered one of these scholarships, upon acceptance of the offer, you will be invited to apply for the International Academic Excellence Scholarship
If you are an onshore international student, or you have completed a New Zealand-based foundation programme
- Log in to, or create an account in eVision.
- If you are creating an account, select an undergraduate programme of study. This can be changed later, if necessary.
- Complete the first three steps of your University application:
- Personal details
- Contact details
- Educational background
- Go to My Scholarships and Awards on the main page of the eVision portal.
- Select Apply now.
- Complete the sections of the application that are relevant to you.
- Submit your application before the specified date.
