If you wish to come to the University of Otago as an exchange student, you will need to meet the requirements.

How do I apply to study at Otago as an exchange student

To be an incoming exchange student to the University, you need to:

  1. Be enrolled at a partner institution: Exchange partner institutions.
  2. Complete your home university's exchange application process. Contact your International Office for information on the exchange nomination process, application procedures, and deadlines.
  3. Be nominated by your home institution.
  4. Plan to study undergraduate/graduate coursework at the Dunedin campus.
  5. Plan to study at least in Summer School, or for a maximum of two full-time semesters.
  6. Plan a minimum course load of three 18-point papers or a maximum of four 18-point papers. Note that during Summer School, one 18-point paper is considered full-time.
  7. Have a minimum 'B' grade average (70%).
  8. Meet the English requirements for international students.
    The Otago English Language Proficiency Statement form needs to be completed by the Exchange/Study Abroad office at your home institution.
