The Pūtea Tautoko Student Relief Fund is for University of Otago students affected by financial hardship that has become a barrier to study.
You will be required to name a referee as a part of your Pūtea Tautoko application.
Suitable referees may include your head of college, thesis supervisor, lecturer, University of Otago-employed tutor, or a staff member from support services, depending on your circumstances. International students on a New Zealand scholarship should request a reference from a staff member from the International Office.
Appropriate referees from outside of the University include your general practitioner/doctor, current employer, ex-employer, or a recognised community leader.
In exceptional circumstances, someone other than the positions above might be the most knowledgeable person to provide a reference for you. To determine the whether your proposed referee is appropriate, contact the Manager, Student Relief Funds. Email student.relief@otago.ac.nz
