Library fines can be paid by credit or debit card through your University of Otago Library account, or via internet banking.
How do I pay a Library fine
Credit or debit card
To pay library fines by credit or debit card:
- Sign in to My Library account
- Go to Fines or Overview and select the Pay icon to start the transaction.
- Once payment is complete, and your Library record updated, a receipt will be emailed to you.
Payments by credit or debit card incur a 1.55% transaction fee.
Internet banking
To pay library fines by internet banking:
- Transfer funds to the University of Otago's bank account number: 01-1839-0944124-00. This may take up to five working days.
Most New Zealand banks have the University of Otago in their searchable list of online banking payees. - Include these details so your payment can be correctly assigned and tracked:
- Surname/Family name
- Username (e.g. samsa698)
- "LIBRARY FINE"
- Email: ask.library@otago.ac.nz to advise that you have paid your fine. This will be cleared when your payment is processed by the University Cashiers.
