How do I access Microsoft Teams

To access Microsoft Teams:

Download Microsoft Teams and install it if it is not already installed on your computer.

Windows

  1. At the bottom left of your screen, left click the Start menu button (the Windows icon).
  2. Tap the letter M on your keyboard then click on Microsoft Teams.
  3. If you have not opened Teams before, you will need to sign in with your University of Otago username and password.

To make Teams easier to access, when Teams first appears (after tapping on M), right-click on the Teams icon then choose to Pin the app to the taskbar. You can do this from the Start Menu or from the taskbar.

macOS

  1. Go to the Dock, then click on the Launchpad icon.
  2. Click on the Teams app to open it.

You can also access Teams online via the main Microsoft 365 website and sign in using your University of Otago staff email address and password:
