Credit for previous tertiary study from an international institution may be applied to a degree at the University of Otago.
How do I apply for credit from an international institution
International students
If you are an international student who wishes to transfer credit from previous tertiary study at an international institution, you will have any credit automatically assessed as a part of your application for admission. A transcript is required to assess any possible credit to be applied to your University of Otago degree. This will be requested when you apply.
Domestic students
If you are a domestic student, you will need to complete an application to have any credit from an international institution applied to your degree at the University of Otago.
To apply for credit from an international institution as a domestic student:
- Log in to eVision.
- Click Change my details in the My Details section (current students may also apply from My exams and results).
- Review education details:
- To add the details of your previous study, including your transcript, click Add another.
- If you need to update details or want to provide a transcript, use the Request a change box at the bottom of the page.
- If you have already added all details, select the correct study and click Apply for credit.
The Apply for credit option is only available once you have accepted an offer of place from the University of Otago and your academic study has been verified based on your official academic record(s). If the Apply for credit option is not available and you have accepted an offer of place, contact AskOtago.
How much does it cost
Applying for credit is free, but there may be external costs if you are required to provide previous academic transcripts or other university-related documentation.
