If a leased car park is blocked, a towaway can be requested to remove the unauthorised vehicle.
Who is this available to
University of Otago staff and students who are the leaseholder of a car park, or who have been previously approved to request a towaway.
How do I request a towaway
Parkable
To request a towaway via Parkable:
- Log in to the Parkable app or visit the Parkable website
- Select Support on the top left of the app.
- Follow the prompts and add the registration plate of the offending vehicle where prompted.
- Where an alternative carpark is available, you will be re-allocated to a new park.

Non-Parkable
To request a towaway from a non-Parkable managed park (e.g. a departmental park):
- Contact the Parking Co-ordinator:
Tel +64 3 479 8014 – leave a message if the Parking Co-ordinator is unable to answer, or
Email parking@otago.ac.nz – send your request as high priority with the subject heading "UNAUTHORISED PARKING". - Include the following information:
- Carpark area name and carpark number
- Registration number
- Colour
- Make
- Model
- Any company details, if applicable
How much does this cost
There is no charge to request a towaway. Any costs associated with the tow will be the responsibility of the unauthorised vehicle's owner.
