How do I install Affinity 3

Affinity 3 combines the previous three applications – Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher – into a single unified application.

Installing Affinity 3 on a University of Otago-owned computer

You can install Affinity 3 from the Company Portal/Software Center:

Windows

  1. Go to the Company Portal or Software Center on your University computer.
  2. Click on Affinity 3.0.1 in the Apps tab.
  3. Click the Install button. It will take a few minutes to install.
  4. You should be able to find the Affinity application as a Recently Added app accessible by clicking on the Start/Windows button on your taskbar.

Mac

  1. Go to the Company Portal or Software Center on your University computer.
  2. Click on Affinity 3. The app will take a few minutes to install.
  3. Open the Affinity application in your Applications folder.

Personal computer

Download the Affinity 3 installer directly from Serif’s website:

Activating Affinity 3

You need to activate Affinity 3 before you can use it:

  1. Sign up for a Canva account (a free account is sufficient).
  2. The first time you launch Affinity 3 after installation, sign in using your Canva account.
  3. Your Affinity app is now activated for use.

How do I install Affinity 2 applications

University-owned computer

To install Affinity 2 apps on a University of Otago-owned computer:

Windows

  1. Go to the Company Portal or Software Center on your University computer.
  2. Click on the Affinity application you wish to install (Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Photo 2, and/or Affinity Designer 2) in the Applications tab.
  3. Click the Install button. It will take a few minutes to install.
  4. You should be able to find the Affinity application as a Recently Added app accessible by clicking on the Start/Windows button on your taskbar.

Mac

  1. Go to the Company Portal or Software Center on your University computer.
  2. Click on the Affinity application you wish to install (Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Photo 2, and/or Affinity Designer 2). The app will take a few minutes to install.
  3. Open the Affinity application in your Applications folder.

Personal computer

To install an Affinity 2 application on a personal computer:

  1. Before you can install an Affinity 2 app on a personal device, request a software licence for it. If you are a student, a staff member will need to request this on your behalf.
  2. Once this request is processed, you will receive the installation instructions and license information from the ITS Software team.
