While most of the University's buildings do not use gas, there are several types used for specific purposes across the campus.

Cooking areas and labs use gases such as Carbon dioxide, Carbogen, Hydrogen, and LPG. There are usually two bottles on rotation. These can be replaced urgently on request, with compliant installation provided. New gas bottles can also be installed where necessary.

It is important to note that the smell of gas is considered an emergency. On-campus plumbers will respond immediately, as it could indicate a leak. Phone +64 3 479 8003 for immediate assistance.

In the case of strong gas smells, Fire and Emergency Services will need to be called.

A Property Services request can be raised for gas services.

To raise a Property Services request as a Property+ user:
