A multi-purpose recreation area is available for use on the Union Lawn between the dining hall Auahi Ora and Smithells Gym on the Dunedin campus.
Students and staff can make use of:
- An artificial turf lawn equipped with a basketball hoop, netball hoop, pickleball net, and volleyball net
- The outdoor table tennis table
- Picnic tables
Students and staff are encouraged to bring their own gear to use in the space, or borrow equipment from the honesty box located at the artificial turf lawn beneath the signboard. Make sure to return what you have been using so that everyone in the University community can enjoy the facility.
Instructions on using the turf, including the push-button system for turning on the lights for evening use, can be found on the signboard beside Smithells Gym.
