Special admission is an alternative entry pathway for applicants who do not otherwise qualify for admission to the University.
You may be eligible for Special admission if you are at least 20 years old on the first day of the semester in which you intend to begin study and you do not meet the standard admission requirements.
To be considered, you also need to be either a New Zealand citizen, a holder of a New Zealand residence class visa, or an Australian citizen or permanent resident studying in New Zealand. If English or Māori is not your first language, you also need to meet the University's language requirements
As part of a Special admission application for applicable undergraduate programmes, evidence is required to support your application.
This includes a brief curriculum vitae (CV) that outlines your work experience, previous study, and any other relevant activities. You are also required to provide a short personal statement explaining why you are applying for your intended programme and how your recent experience or educational background has prepared you to succeed in this study.
In some cases, you may also be required to provide evidence that you meet the University's language requirements.
