University community members often travel for work both domestically and internationally for various purposes.
International travel may be required for research, conference, or other work purposes overseas. Domestic air and land travel for work purposes should be booked through a University approved travel agents or suppliers.
Travel insurance is required for staff or students who are travelling for University of Otago purposes.
- Domestic travel bookings require a work plan to be agreed between the staff member and an approver
- International travel bookings also require a work plan and must be booked through one of the University’s Mandatory Travel Agents
- International travel insurance is available for staff undertaking business or private travel and for students undertaking University-funded travel
- Koru membership pre-approval is available to staff who regularly travel for University business
