The Dunedin Tertiary Open Days are an immersive event designed to give prospective students, their families and supporters first-hand experience of what the tertiary environment is like and to help them decide whether studying and living in Dunedin is right for them.
Open Days have academic presentations and activities, information sessions on study options, explore campus facilities, tour residential colleges, as well as connect with student services and clubs. They are a showcase of what university life looks like at the University of Otago.
Otago Open Days are held over two days. For 2026, Dunedin Tertiary Open Days will take place on Sunday, 3 May and Monday, 4 May. Registration is recommended so attendees can receive event updates and announcements.
If you are unable to attend Open Days in Dunedin, you can still engage with the University through expos and information evenings held around New Zealand. Students visiting Dunedin at other times can also book a campus tour or arrange a visit to a residential college ( contact colleges directly to organise a tour).
