Property Services contracts external suppliers to carry out cleaning work on the University of Otago campuses.
High traffic carpeted areas are cleaned on a schedule determined by the Facilities Managers.
Buildings have their windows cleaned (inside and out) on a schedule.
Toilet Washroom consumables (toilet paper, soap, paper towels) will be ordered by the cleaning contactor and replenished at each clean/service of the toilets.
Sanitary bins are located in female and accessible toilets. They are replaced every four weeks and, if required, are emptied fortnightly.
23 Nappy change stations are available in various toilets and parent rooms around campus. Locations include:
- Hocken Library
- Information service building
- The Link
- St David II
- Plaza Cafe
- Dental School
Contracted cleaners who have difficulties with keys or cards for building access should refer to their employer in the first instance.
