There are a number of places where tauira Māori | Māori students can access support at the University of Otago. These services are designed to support tauira Māori academically, culturally, and personally throughout their studies.

Māori Centre Te Huka Mātauraka is a key hub for Māori student support on campus. You are encouraged to connect with Māori Centre staff at any stage of your studies for guidance, advocacy, and a culturally supportive space.

Te Rōpu Māori/Māori is the University of Otago's Māori Students' Association, representing all Māori students on campus. It operates as a parallel association to the Otago University Students' Association (OUSA) and provides representation, advocacy, social connection, and support for Māori students.

Kaiāwhina Māori – divisional Māori student support staff. Each of the University's four academic divisions has dedicated Māori student support staff (Kaiāwhina Māori) who provide advice and support specific to your' areas of study. This includes help with navigating university systems, academic support, and connecting you with appropriate services. Dedicated support is also avaiable for Māori postgraduate students through the Graduate Research School. The Māori Postgraduate Support Adviser provides tailored guidance for postgraduate tauira Māori.

Additional support and resources are available for both prospective and current Māori students, as well as their whānau. These include guidance to help students transition to Otago, maintain connections with whānau, and succeed academically and personally.
